Southern Alamance students raise, adopt out animals in program Burlington Times News Dawson, an agriculture teacher at Southern, founded the program in 2013 so she could share her passion for animals with her students, beginning with Animal Science I, the study of the livestock industry, and expanding to include smaller animals in 2014.
